Hi, I'm Alaina, LGPC.

My goal is to help you gain more control over the seemingly uncontrollable

I‘m a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in the state of Maryland who offers virtual appointments to adults. I work closely with clients living with chronic illness and medical trauma; people who have been dismissed, minimized, or harmed in medical settings, or who carry the emotional weight of ongoing health challenges.

I know how deeply these experiences can shape your sense of safety, identity, and autonomy. In our work together, you’ll have a space where your body’s story is respected, your limits are honored, and your resilience is seen.

I see clients exclusively via telehealth. You must reside in the state of Maryland to engage in telehealth services with me.

Who I work with

My work focuses on supporting people navigating complex trauma, medical trauma, chronic illness, dissociative disorders, chronic anxiety and phobias, bipolar disorders, neurodivergence, and LGBTQ+ identities. I have extensive experience working with clients who feel like they’re “floating through life,” losing time, shutting down under stress, or struggling to trust their own internal experiences. I understand how frightening and isolating dissociation can feel, and I work gently and collaboratively to help you build safety, grounding, and connection at a pace that honors your nervous system.

I work with adults (18+) who:

  • Realize that current mental health struggles are preventing them from living life the way they would like to.

  • Are seeking support with managing anxiety.

  • Are exploring identity, sexuality, or relationships.

  • Live with a phobia that feels like a barrier to enjoying aspects of life.

  • Live with depression or a bipolar diagnosis and are seeking resources for managing their mood.

  • Experience difficulty connecting with peers or loved ones.

  • Feel like their mental health challenges are preventing them from living authentically.

  • Live with chronic illness or chronic pain.

  • Need space to discuss the challenges of navigating daily life with chronic illness or chronic pain.

  • Might be new to therapy and are unsure of where to begin.

More About Me

I graduated from Loyola University Maryland in 2022, and since then I’ve dedicated my work to helping clients untangle long-standing patterns, reconnect with their bodies, and build lives that feel more grounded, spacious, and authentically their own. My approach is relational and collaborative: I don’t sit back and nod; I show up with you. I validate, I reflect, I help you make sense of what feels confusing or overwhelming, and I honor the wisdom you’ve carried through some incredibly difficult experiences. While my approach is eclectic, adapting to each unique individual, you can expect me to incorporate parts work, attachment theory, and interpersonal approaches. This means we work together to go deeper into the work to get to know your “system” of parts and internal conflicts. You can also expect that I will check in with you about our relationship to ensure mutual understanding. I find this offers a safe way to encourage more authenticity between us. It is also my goal to become EMDR certified in the future.

Outside the therapy room, I recharge by playing video games, rolling dice in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, and spending time with my dog.
